Overview of the day

The Conference will focus on the latest issues, as seen in official statistics at international, national and local scales. It will be chaired by Professor Alan Townsend (MRTPI, FeRSA). 

The Conference will feature presentations from the academics, government departments and agencies, local authorities, NOMIS and TWRI Policy and Research.

The Conference will cover the following:-

  • Future Challenges for the Labour Market
  • Youth Unemployment (Statistics, Prognosis etc.)
  • The Future of the Work Programme
  • The Impact of Immigration on the UK Labour Market
  • Challenges of an Aging Population for the UK's Labour Market
  • Job Creation issues and Location Problems
  • Data availability and Issues/Challenges

The Conference will give attendees an opportunity to engage with presenters, exhibitors and other delegates.

The Conference is aimed at government departments and agencies, local authorities, academics, practitioners and policy makers in economic development, housing, employment land, regeneration and planning across the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Conference fee is £125 (plus VAT), including lunch and refreshments, discounted to £95 (plus VAT) if booked by 1st May 2015.
