Kadhem Jallab - Managing Director
After leaving work in Local Government in September 2011, Kadhem Jallab, became the Managing Director of his own Company “TWRI Policy & Research” which he has turned into a National/International Company. Kadhem Managed TWRI for over 15 years when it was a Local Government Research Unit.
He has a Master degree in Statistics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and a PhD degree in Statistics from Newcastle University. He became a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society back in 1992 and a member of the British Society for Population Studies in 1998.
He worked for 3 years in Scotland as a Researcher in Social Policy and in Demography before moving to become a Statistical Advisor for one year to a Local Authority in Scotland. The 1991 Census was the first Census that he got involved in. He managed the annual Voluntary Population Survey for 19 Councils and developed a new software to analyse the data.
Kadhem then moved back to Newcastle to become the Head of TWRI. In his role as Head of TWRI, he further developed his extensive expertise in Census/Demography and in particular in Population Projections. He also has developed extensive experience in Social Research, Survey work, Community Safety data and research, and in Economics research.
He submitted evidence to the Justice Select Committee of the House of Commons on a New Approach to Crime and Justice. He participated in the publication of a book on this new approach to Crime and Justice and to hundreds of reports published mostly on TWRI‟s website.
For the last 15 years, Kadhem annually managed a portfolio of research projects. These projects cover Economy, Social, Health, Demography, Land and Property, Community Safety, Area Profiling and many other areas. He also has extensive experience and expertise including in: conducting research; providing advice; responding to requests for information; awarding research contracts to Universities and to consultants; tendering for research projects and the delivery of the contract work; leading on specific areas of research (including Census/Demographic ; Crime and Area Profiling); work and liaise with a big number of public organizations and Universities; identify data sources and develop and maintain partnerships to accomplish research projects; present data and research findings to meet the needs of variety of audiences; and organize seminars and conferences.
