This pioneering report estimates housing wealth in 2001 for households below ward level (down to each LSOA). This uses house price data in combination with Census 2001 data on tenure, and whether households are mortgage free, to model the location and size of housing wealth. Strong positive associations are found between housing wealth and self employment. This report is highly relevant to both housing and economic development professionals.
